Walk-on atmosphere at a live darts night at Throwdown Darts Dudley

Darts Walk-On Songs: The Anthems That Shake the Room

A darts walk-on is thirty seconds of pure theatre: lights down, first bars hit, and a few hundred people lose their minds. The song matters. Ask anyone who's heard a whole room chant along to a guitar riff.

The modern classics

  • Michael van Gerwen - Seven Nation Army (The White Stripes). The riff becomes 'Ohhh, Michael van Gerwen' and it's arguably the most famous sound in darts.
  • Luke Littler - Greenlight (Pitbull ft. Flo Rida). The teenage phenomenon's anthem since his breakout 2024 World Championship.
  • Luke Humphries - I Predict a Riot (Kaiser Chiefs). Cool Hand swapped Cake by the Ocean for this in 2024 - his World final walk-on had the whole of Ally Pally singing every word.
  • Stephen Bunting - Titanium (David Guetta ft. Sia). Picked because it's his son's favourite - and 'I am titanium' suits a man they call The Bullet.
  • Gerwyn Price - Ice Ice Baby (Vanilla Ice). The Iceman cometh, obviously.

The all-timers

Phil Taylor walking on to Snap!'s 'The Power' is the genre's Mona Lisa. And nobody has ever out-entranced Bobby George - sequins, candelabra, 'We Are the Champions'. Walk-ons aren't a warm-up; they're half the show.

The best walk-on we've ever done

At Throwdown, everyone gets a walk-on - pros and content creators alike. The most emotional one yet? Big Lez, the night after his birthday, entering to the Happy Birthday theme with the whole Copthorne on its feet - before Callan Rydz cruelly declined to give him a present. That's the thing about walk-ons live: on telly they're great, but in the room they hit different.

Hear them live

The songs, the lights, the roar - it's all part of a live darts exhibition. Next chance to sing yourself hoarse: Gian van Veen live in Dudley, 26 September.
